A Majestic Pair of Vintage Indian Throne Chairs

Make a statement with this exceptional pair of large-scale vintage throne chairs, sourced from Gujarat. Known as Pitara or Sankheda tribal chairs, these were traditionally used by village heads and royalty for their commanding presence and durability.

This matching pair (PC-2) is a rare find — identical in form, size, and patina, perfect for a grand entrance, hotel lobby, farmhouse living room, or designer retail space.

Craftsmanship & Details:

Crafted from solid hardwood, the chairs feature a deep, almost black original patina contrasted with hand-applied brass and iron studwork. The tall, arched backrest with a golden finial (kalash) on top, the paneled back with vertical brass inlay, and the distinctive curved apron base are all hallmarks of traditional western Indian woodcraft. The wide armrests and low, broad seat offer both comfort and regal stature. Original wear and patina consistent with age adds to its authentic antique character.

This is not a reproduction — a true vintage salvage piece.
