Sourced from Gujarat, this vintage Pitara Box / Munim Desk is a true piece of Indian heritage. Crafted decades ago from solid, old-growth teak wood, it was originally used by traders and merchants for accounting and for safely storing valuable documents and textiles. The rich, deep patina, natural grain patterns, and time-worn marks are a testament to its age and journey.

The design is exceptionally functional – featuring two hinged slanted lids that open to a spacious interior, a raised back ledge to prevent items from falling, and original iron latch closures. The sloped top makes it ideal for use as a writing desk when placed on the floor, as was traditional.
