A magnificent original antique Pitara Chest from Rajasthan / Gujarat, circa early 20th century.

Crafted in solid old teak wood with a deeply aged, dark natural patina, this chest is built to last generations. The structure is reinforced with heavy hand-forged iron bands and rivets, featuring its original front latch lock with dual iron hasps and decorative turned finials on the top corners – a signature of traditional Indian dowry chests.

This is a true statement piece, perfect as a coffee table, blanket storage, entryway trunk, or retail display. Its curved front profile and rustic character add instant warmth and history to any modern, boho, or farmhouse interior.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind and has been ethically salvaged and cleaned while retaining its original character, marks, and imperfections that tell its story.
